Meet the Team

Go Beyond is being shaped by people who believe adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities deserve opportunities to live with greater independence, purpose, and connection.

Dan and Sharon Rykhus

Dan and Sharon are the co-founders of Go Beyond and long-standing community leaders and philanthropists in South Dakota. Inspired by their personal journey as parents to their son, David, Dan and Sharon established Go Beyond to address the critical question facing many families of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD): What’s next?

Driven by faith, a spirit of generosity, and a vision for inclusive community living, they are leading the effort to create a first-of-its-kind supportive residential community in the Upper Midwest. Sharon serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors, bringing passionate advocacy and family-centered vision to the organization’s foundation. Dan, former President and CEO of Raven Industries, serves as Vice-Chair, pairing extensive executive experience and strategic leadership with deep community commitment. Together, they are dedicated to building a future where adults with IDD can live with purpose, independence, and a sense of belonging.
